Silly Friends

Our sweet friends Laci and Marlee are finally back from Maine! We have missed them so much. Marlee and Ben were playing in Ben's play room yesterday and decided to wear these silly goggles-

Slip n' Slide

Jeremy has been coaching at Webber's baseball camp this week. He told me to bring Ben up to play on the slip n' slide this afternoon since the boys would be learning how to slide on it. Ben had so much fun playing with his Daddy and Coach Jay. Here are some cute pictures from this afternoon.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Yes, we are thankful for the much needed rain, but we are also getting cabin fever! Here are some cute shots I took of Ben while we were bored at home last week.

Sweet Summertime!

We kicked off summer right this weekend with a trip to the Omni Resort in Champions Gate. We got a great rate through Hotwire. The pool area was awesome. They have a zero entry pool, waterslide, fountains, waterfalls, and a lazy river! We spent most of our time at the pool. There was a Chili's really close by, so we ordered Chili's to go Saturday night and had a picnic in our hotel room. They have a cute little store called Morsel's in the lobby, where we enjoyed toasted bagels, muffins, yogurt, coffee and hot chocolate this morning.  It was heavenly!
We are so pumped about summer! Jeremy has baseball camps at Webber the next two weeks. When those are over, we will take a little trip to the Gaylord Palms, then spend a week at Anna Maria Island.

Here are some pictures from our trip this weekend. Happy summer, everyone!

He got a frisbee, magnifying glass, twizzlers, crayons, and a squishy ball

Ben went down this slide once, then decided it was too dark. Jeremy and I went down it several times, ha!

Class of 2012

Last night was very special. I got to watch my very first group of students walk across a stage and receive their high school diplomas. I got a little emotional because I still picture these students as my little 7th graders. They looked so grown in their red caps and gowns. I was seriously fighting back tears when they moved their tassels over. I love my job so much. It is so rewarding to watch these kids grow up, then head off to chase their dreams. The Valedictorian quoted the same scripture that I did at graduation:

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Congratulations, Class of 2012! I am so proud of you!

(The picture on the post below is of one of my sweet girls, Ana Vega. My friend and co-worker, Natalie, also taught her. She is so special to us and we know she is going to do well at Warner University. We are so proud of you, Annie!)

sick baby

Our sweet baby is under the weather. He woke up Wednesday morning with a funky cough, but seemed fine the rest of the day. By that evening, the cough was back. He woke up around 2 AM crying in his sleep. I felt his forehead and he was burning up with fever. I gave him some ibuprofen and called Dr. Larue first thing Thursday morning. They graciously worked us in. Dr. Larue said Ben's tonsils were inflamed and he had bronchitis (I am wondering if all that smoke from last weekend is causing this respiratory distress). His cough is wheezy, so little man got a prescription for steroids. Fun. He had a hard time falling asleep last night....steroids always seem to do that. We have a follow-up Monday afternoon because Dr. Larue wants to make sure the bronchitis doesn't turn into something worse. We are hoping lots of rest this weekend will make our little guy all better.

On a positive note, I just love how much Ben loves Dr. Larue now. He used to cry whenever we pulled into the parking lot, but now looks forward to seeing him. He couldn't wait to show Dr. Larue his new sunglasses yesterday. And as always, Dr. Larue made a big deal about them and told me for the millionth time how handsome he is. We love our doctor and love how much he loves our sweet little boy!

Here are a few pictures Grandpa snapped of Ben at the wedding last weekend. They were taken with his little Nikon point-and-shoot, so they're pretty good considering. I can't wait to see if the wedding photographer got some good shots of us. Ben melted our hearts in this tux :)
