October Randoms

We've had such a busy month already. I think we've finally settled in to our new routine with Ben's preschool. We have his first Fall Carnival coming up this Saturday and we are very excited! I ordered a cute costume for Ben and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival in the mail. Ben is still doing very well at school. He has earned a stamp for good behavior every day of the year so far. We are so proud! He is learning so much. They study one letter and one number each week and do tons of activities to reinforce the learning. Most of the learning is through play, although we do have homework every night. Can you believe homework in preschool! Ha! The curriculum at public schools is definitely more rigorous than when we went to school. These babies are learning what we used to learn in kindergarten and they are soaking it up! I firmly believe that the students who begin school in kindergarten without any preschool are the ones who spend the rest of their lives playing catch up. Preschool is so important!

Jeremy has started conditioning with the baseball team and I started a running club at work! We worked it out where my running club meets Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays, and Jeremy's team conditions Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays. The only day that overlaps is Monday, but it works out because Jeremy picks Ben up from school and has him help with conditioning. Ben calls himself the "little coach" and Jeremy gives him a whistle! It is so precious to pick Ben up at the track and see him helping Daddy coach.

Here are some random pictures I've snapped the past few weeks. Enjoy!

1st School Picture

Ben's first school picture was taken in September and we got them back last week. I ordered a digital copy so I could share it with my blog readers. He is so handsome and looks so grown up in this picture!

More birthday photos

Here are some more photos that I forgot to post from Ben's 4th birthday extravaganza. I can't believe that was one week ago already.

Aunt Lisa sent Ben some birthday money and he bought this train with it at the Disney store.

My father-in-law is taking a photography workshop called Finding the Light, so I posed for him at Downtown Disney, ha!
I love these pictures of Ben from the T-Rex restaurant. The waiters were bringing out his cake and singing to him.

Ben's Preschool Party

Ben celebrated his 4th birthday with his friends at preschool this afternoon. We picked out mini cupcakes and made goodie bags to share with everyone. The kids were so sweet singing to Ben and thanking him for the goodie bags. They even played a game of musical chairs. I really enjoyed the hour I spent with my big boy at school. What a sweet gift for mama!

The pictures aren't wonderful. I took these with my iPhone. I'll try posting a video later.

Ben's 4th birthday!

I can't believe my baby is FOUR! Unbelievable. Jeremy and I woke Ben up in the hotel this morning and sang the birthday song to him. He jumped up and started looking at his arms and legs. He kept saying, "look how big my legs are!" It was so precious! He just knew he had grown overnight! Grandma and Grandpa had a little present for him in the hotel. They were right next door to us, so Ben ran over to open his first birthday present. It was a train from Chuggington. Ben was so excited to have Hodge. We packed up and got showers before heading home. We stopped in Lakeland and did a little shopping and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A before going back to Frostproof. We got back in time to let Ben open his presents from us before nap time. We got him several Chuggington trains and the Round House where the trains sleep. He was so excited! We had Grandma & Grandpa, Nana, Laci, Marlee and Easton over for cake and presents after nap time. Ben got so many fun presents. He got a Chuggington train set from Grandma and Grandpa, more trains and a movie from Nana, and more trains and a book from Laci, Marlee and Easton. He got several cards and birthday money in the mail from the rest of the family. He is loved by many, that's for sure.
